In the past four years Apple Festival costs have doubled, taking a festival that took approximately $20,000 to hold to where it now takes over $40,000.  In addition to these increased expenses we have had a decrease in income, namely in grants or sponsorships. Instead of having our usual balance of $7,000 - $15,000 to begin this year, our balance as of February 2023 is less than $2,500.

Combining these increases in cost and decreases in income, along with several members retiring from the committee, we reached the only logical conclusion:  the Darlington Apple Festival can not be held this October.

Instead, we will be taking this year to increase additional support along the lines of committee members and sponsorships in our hope to put on a fantastic festival in October 2024!
